All Musculo-Skeletal Conditions – not specifically sports related
The musculo-skeletal system (MSK) makes us move and supports our frame. Bones, tissue, smooth, skeletal and cardiac muscle, tendons, ligaments and cartilage all work together to produce our loco-motor system. Everyone at some point will inevitably damage a part of this complex system leaving a graded discomfort; this could arise from a sports related injury or just from going about daily routines.
Sports Massage is an internationally recognised professional therapy that is applied to aid healing, strengthen and prevent reoccurrence.
Posture is a topic frequently discussed amongst Sports Therapist and other professions alike. Our posture has a heavy impact on how we operate and if not corrected may lead to chronic injuries / illnesses. This in turn may have an effect with our breathing, sleep patterns and state of mind. A postural assessment is a clear and accurate way of helping find the cause of the discomfort. The Remedial aspect is about correction and finding a suitable and practical solution that will enable our body to operate in a more efficient and effective manner. Re-educating our mind and stance is an excellent starting point .
Combined Floatation Tank & Lymphatic Drainage
What is Floatation?
Restrictive Environmental Stimulation (REST). The floatation tank resembles a large bath tub and is constructed from fibre-glass and specifically designed to minimise outside distractions such as light, sound, tactile sensations and gravity. A large amount of Epsom salts is added to the water, which results in optimal, effortless buoyancy. The water is warmed to body temperature, 35.5 centigrade. Suitable music is played to assist in the relaxation and the lights will fade automatically. (Ear plugs can be worn, if required). The above elements aim to create a profound feeling of relaxation and peacefulness.
Highly recommended for any person who is looking to achieve a true sense of well-being and wanting to take time out for pure indulgence. Most beneficial for pregnant ladies (any stage), chronic back pain, muscular tension, joint conditions, sports injuries, athletes, post-sporting activities and many more. To feel the optimum benefits it is advisable to follow the floatation with a soft tissue massage. The toxins / waste products are slowly and gently moved into the lymphatic system and dispersed naturally. It is important to adequately hydrate after the treatment to assist in flushing out the remanding toxins and to replace any lost fluid. The massage will promote a strong healthy balance with our physical and emotional well-being.
Marathon Runners – Pre & Post Treatments
26.2 miles requires tremendous stamina and endurance whether an elite athlete, keen runner or just in it for fun. The human body is put through rigorous training schemes for a long period of time and the risk of injury is almost certain at some point. Prevention of injury is the key in this instance. It is essential to maintain a healthy MSK system and Pre Massage treatments are invaluable.
Pre Massage mainly focuses on shifting metabolites (waste products), which have been produced during training and is moved into the lymphatic system for dispersal. The treatment also encourages the delivery on Red Blood Cells (RBC) along with nutrients to the involved muscles. This will allow them to recover and return to their original condition, thus minimising damage. Pre Massage also focuses on breathing techniques and mind sets, which will assist in reaching goals.
Post Massage treatments are just as important. After activity our muscles and joints have been overworked and it is essential to keep our joints mobile and reduce muscular tension, such as DOMS (Delayed onset of muscle soreness). The gentle draining and working through the overworked muscles will greatly assist in alleviating these post activity conditions.
Baby Massage – Private Tuition & Group Sessions
Being able to bond with your baby is priceless and can start as early as confirmation of the pregnancy. The closeness and learning experience both parents can share with their baby is one of life's most precious gifts. Whether a first time parent or not, we are all familiar with the sleepless nights and the big changes to our daily routines. These changes can also have adverse effects on the way we feel and often present themselves as post-natal related syndromes.
Baby Massage has many key benefits. The most important message to convey to your baby is how much they are loved and for them to feel protected. Baby massage aims to aid digestion concerns, strengthen their immune system, better their sleep patterns, improve communication skills and work on strengthening their physical and emotional well-being.
One to one tuition is an excellent yet private way for parents to learn the art of baby massage. The relationship between baby and parent/s is so strong and leaves such a healthy path for the future.

Massage for Events & Tournaments
Pre & Post massage is available for all events & tournaments. These basic yet invaluable treatments are excellent for all day events in which competitors will be working their MSK to optimum levels. The key benefits are mainly to keep the muscles awake and release the build up of waste products that would have accumulated during activity. Keeping the muscles fed via RBC will encourage the return of elasticity in the muscles and minimise the risk of injury.
